Call for Abstracts:
\nHis Dark Materials and Philosophy<\/strong><\/p>\nRichard Greene & Rachel Robison-Greene, Editors<\/p>\n
Abstracts are sought for a collection of philosophical essays related to the Philip Pullman trilogy and soon-to-be HBO series\u00a0His Dark Materials\u00a0<\/em>(<\/strong>The Golden Compass\/Northern Lights, The Subtle Knife,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0The Amber Spyglass<\/em>). This volume will be published by Open Court Publishing (the publisher of\u00a0The Simpsons and Philosophy, The Matrix and Philosophy, Dexter and Philosophy, The Walking Dead and Philosophy, The Handmaid\u2019s Tale and Philosophy, Boardwalk Empire and Philosophy,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0The Princess Bride and Philosophy<\/em>, etc.) as part of their successful\u00a0Popular Culture and Philosophy<\/em>\u00a0series. We are seeking abstracts, but anyone who has already written an unpublished paper on this topic may submit it in its entirety. Potential contributors may want to examine other volumes in the Open Court series.<\/p>\nContributors are welcome to submit abstracts on any topic of philosophical interest that pertains to\u00a0His Dark Materials.<\/em>\u00a0The editors are especially interested in receiving submissions that engage philosophical issues\/topics\/concepts in\u00a0His Dark Materials<\/em>\u00a0in creative and nonstandard ways.<\/p>\nPlease feel free to forward this to anyone writing within a philosophic discipline who might be interested in contributing.<\/p>\n
Contributor Guidelines:
\n1. Abstract of paper (100\u2013750 words)
\n2. Resume\/CV for each author\/coauthor of the paper
\n3. Initial submission should be made by email (we prefer e-mail with MS Word attachment)
\n4. Deadlines:<\/p>\n
Abstracts due September 1, 2019
\nFirst drafts due October 1, 2019
\nFinal drafts due December 15, 2019
\n(We are looking to complete the entire ms. by December 30, 2019 so early submissions are encouraged and welcomed!)<\/p>\n
