Until now, spouses have had to largely refrain from enjoying this word game with one another, and not only because of qualms about describing themselves as \u201cfriends\u201d (whether because that was felt to imply too low or too high a level of affection to be appropriate). The technology available when \u201cWords With Friends\u201d was developed did not allow for key features necessary to allow spouses to play the game together effectively \u2013 for instance, the devices on which the game has been played were unable to detect where the wife was planning on making a word, and warn thus the husband to avoid playing a word there.<\/p>\n
