Z. Myers has a post today about the way Answers in Genesis has been tracking who reads it and what else they read<\/a>, and one of the categories is \u201cChristian\u201d Users.<\/p>\n<p>Read <a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/pharyngula\/2010\/12\/another_reason_to_avoid_visiti.php\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Myers\u2019 post<\/a> for the full story and the relevant HTML script. And here\u2019s a link to the <a href=\"http:\/\/cseweb.ucsd.edu\/users\/lerner\/papers\/ccs10-jsc.pdf\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">original report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever one may think of other things Answers in Genesis has done, they have clearly accomplished one thing effectively: they managed to get the category \u201cReligion\u201d onto a list of those who use web-based tracking technology to violate the privacy of those who visit their web site. Otherwise the list would simply have included porn, media, news, shopping, and things like that. Thanks to AiG, \u201creligion\u201d also appears.<\/p>\n<p>This is obviously a very serious matter. But among the more amusing aspects are the fact that Answers in Genesis\u2019 tracking script categorizes those who visit other creationism-related sites as \u201cCreationist Groupies,\u201d and while the quotes may indicate doubts about whether those who visit other \u201cChristian\u201d sites are \u201cChristian,\u201d those who visit Joel Osteen\u2019s site are placed in the category \u201cOther.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"blogger-post-footer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/tracker\/7622297540113836091-3697332825839299861?l=exploringourmatrix.blogspot.com\" alt=\"\"><\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The \u201cscare quotes\u201d are not mine but theirs.
