{"id":688,"date":"2011-07-01T16:58:33","date_gmt":"2011-07-02T00:58:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.patheos.com\/community\/exploringourmatrix\/?p=679"},"modified":"2011-07-01T16:58:33","modified_gmt":"2011-07-02T00:58:33","slug":"the-talpiot-tomb-and-the-james-ossuary-what-if","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/religionprof\/2011\/07\/the-talpiot-tomb-and-the-james-ossuary-what-if.html","title":{"rendered":"The Talpiot Tomb and the James Ossuary: What If&#8230;?"},"content":{"rendered":"<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional\/\/EN\" \"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/REC-html40\/loose.dtd\">\n<html><head><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><\/head><body><p>Being busy preparing for my travels, I only barely <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bibleinterp.com\/articles\/kilell358029.shtml\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">caught wind of the fact that a scientific report declared that the James Ossuary, i.e. the one with the inscription \u201cJames, son of Joseph, brother of Jesus,\u201d has a patina with a chemical signature matching the Talpiot tomb,<\/a> in which were found ossuaries with inscriptions such as \u201cJesus son of Joseph,\u201d \u201cJudas son of Jesus,\u201d and \u201cMariam and Mar(th)a\u201d (previously suggested to read \u201cMariamne also (known as) the Master.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/talpiottomb.com\/images\/tomb_entrance_image.jpg\"><br>\nIf this is correct, and if further study of the inscription and patina on the James ossuary were to declare the entire inscription authentic, then would it be fair to say that in that case the tomb and inscriptions would indeed belong to Jesus and his relatives with a high degree of certainty?<\/p>\n<p>If so, how would you interpret the particular names found and their presence in the Talpiot tomb?
