Each features women in unconventional relationships with older men bearing considerable religious authority; each contains extensive meditations on the impact of religion on American ideas about family and childhood; each devotes considerable attention to the way reading and writing, particularly as these practices are facilitated or restricted by religious contexts, shape the subject\u2019s perception of her everyday experience; and each invites its readers to consider the role that religious discourse, biblical hermeneutics, and the dynamics of faith play in contemporary public and political life.<\/p>\n<p>Please submit an abstract of no more than 500 words to Ray Horton (<a href=\"https:\/\/t.umblr.com\/redirect?z=mailto%3Arhorton3%40murraystate.edu&amp;t=NmZjNDkyN2I3N2M2MGU0OGVhODU5NTQ2NzA4ZDI2MGI2NzEwNmI5YSxwenhZSU1DMw%3D%3D&amp;b=t%3AmfdMDZocgPNnBCuihVsatg&amp;p=https%3A%2F%2Frelcfp.com%2Fpost%2F189442309864%2Fcfp-two-gileads-in-contemporary-fiction&amp;m=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\" decorated-link\">rhorton3@murraystate.edu<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for submissions is\u00a0<strong>January 10th.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Via <a href=\"https:\/\/relcfp.com\/post\/189442309864\/cfp-two-gileads-in-contemporary-fiction\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">RelCFP<\/a>.
