He suggested several alternatives, but I like \u201cDeliberatefraudists\u201d best because it seems to fit the (con) artists formerly known as mythicists at least as well as their theory about the origins of Christianity! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/freethoughtblogs.com\/carrier\/archives\/1151?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+freethoughtblogs%2Fcarrier+%28FTB%3A+Richard+Carrier+Blogs%29&amp;utm_content=Google+Reader\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Richard Carrier continues to nit-pick Ehrman while himself badly botching what ancient Jews believed about resurrection in the process<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/tomverenna.wordpress.com\/2012\/04\/29\/carrier-on-ehrmans-dubious-replies-part-2\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Unsurprisingly<\/a> he still has <a href=\"http:\/\/vridar.wordpress.com\/2012\/04\/29\/bart-ehrman-bans-this-comment-from-his-public-forum\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">his<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/vridar.wordpress.com\/2012\/04\/30\/carrier-slices-and-dices-ehrman-second-course\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">defenders<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/unsettledchristianity.com\/2012\/04\/the-death-of-facts-is-what-has-given-rise-to-stuff-like-mythicism\/?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+unsettledchristianityblog+%28Unsettled+Christianity%29\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Joel Watts shared a card that seems relevant<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/unsettledchristianity.com\/wp-content\/upLoads\/2012\/04\/B63XL.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"294\"><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/politicaljesus.com\/2012\/04\/28\/some-thoughts-on-religion-and-scholarship-deane-gilbreathe-larry-hurtado\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Rod discusses the problems with calling what is done at an institution with a statement of faith \u201cresearch.\u201d<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/bibleandculture\/2012\/04\/29\/critical-thinking-what-is-it-and-why-is-it-important-to-believers\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">Ben Witherington nevertheless encourages critical thinking<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/peterenns\/2012\/04\/larry-hurtado-on-academic-injustice-and-shameful-cowardice-in-christian-academia\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">Pete Enns also responded<\/a> to <a href=\"http:\/\/larryhurtado.wordpress.com\/2012\/04\/27\/academic-injustice-and-shameful-cowardice\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">the post that sparked this discussion in the biblioblogosphere, by Larry Hurtado<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/paleojudaica.blogspot.com\/2012_04_29_archive.html#73697204319694056\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Jim Davila<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/phdiva.blogspot.com\/2012\/04\/jesus-discovery-slander-etc.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Dorothy King discuss the accusation of slander leveled at Mark Goodacre because of his criticism of the \u201cJesus Discovery\u201d \u201cdocumentary.\u201d<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/ntweblog.blogspot.com\/2012\/04\/texas-sharpshooter-fallacy-and-talpiot.html?spref=fb\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Mark Goodacre blogged about the \u201cTexas Sharpshooter Fallacy.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wired.com\/wiredscience\/2012\/04\/science-writing-deniali\/?utm_source=facebook&amp;utm_medium=socialmedia&amp;utm_campaign=facebookclickthru\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Anyone want to look at a \u201cgeneral manual for denialism\u201d and work out how many of the same points can be applied to mythicism?<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wired.com\/wiredscience\/2012\/04\/science-writing-deniali\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Here is a sample from the article and video at Wired<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div>What astounded Carroll when he looked into chiropractors arguments against vaccines, he said, was that they were essentially identical to the ones used by creationists and other anti-evolutionists. Indeed, they are the same arguments used over and over in all kind of denialism.
