Dass dem nicht so ist, ist eine Binsenweisheit. Trotzdem h\u00e4lt sich hartn\u00e4ckig die Ansicht, dass Science Fiction \u201aeigentlich\u2018 M\u00e4nnersache sei. Geht es doch um Technik und Pioniere, die ins Unbekannte vorsto\u00dfen. Selbst Kenner des Genres k\u00f6nnen h\u00e4ufig nur eine Handvoll Autorinnen nennen: Nat\u00fcrlich Mary Shelley, der seit den 1970er Jahren die Erfindung der Science Fiction zugeschrieben wird; Ursula K. Le\u00a0Guin, die nicht nur sehr geistreiche Science Fiction schrieb, sondern auch intelligent \u00fcber das Genre nachdachte; Margaret Atwood, deren Dystopien von gespenstischer Aktualit\u00e4t sind, die sich aber mit der Zuordnung ihrer Texte zur Science Fiction schwertut. Eine Britin, eine US-Amerikanerin, eine Kanadierin, danach kommt lange nichts, schon gar keine deutschsprachigen Science-Fiction-Autorinnen. Nat\u00fcrlich gibt es auch Genre-Pionierinnen wie Judith Merril; Leigh Brackett, der wir viele der Ideen in\u00a0<em>Star Wars<\/em>\u00a0verdanken; Octavia Butler, die die Stimme des Schwarzen Amerikas in der Science Fiction laut werden lie\u00df; N.\u00a0K. Jemisin, die mit ihrem k\u00fchnen Science-Fiction-Genremix gleich dreimal in Folge den renommierten Hugo-Award gewann. Gerade aus der aktuellen amerikanischen Science Fiction lie\u00dfen sich noch einige mehr aufz\u00e4hlen. Sucht man aber nach deutschsprachigen Autorinnen, muss man schon genauer hinsehen: Da gibt es Thea von Harbou, die Drehbuch und Roman zu\u00a0<em>Metropolis<\/em>\u00a0(1927) verfasste, einem Film, der immer noch weltweit als einer der bedeutendsten Science-Fiction-Filme gilt; die vor kurzem verstorbene Gudrun Pausewang, der es mit ihrem Jugendroman\u00a0<em>Die Wolke<\/em>\u00a0(1987) als bislang einziger Autorin gelang, mit dem Kurd-La\u00dfwitz-Preis in der Kategorie \u201eBester Roman\u201c ausgezeichnet zu werden; die schreibenden DDR-Schriftstellerpaare Angela und Karlheinz Steinm\u00fcller sowie Johanna und G\u00fcnter Braun.<\/p>\n<p>Diese Reihe von Beispielen, die sich noch beliebig verl\u00e4ngern lie\u00dfe, zeigt deutlich, dass es selbstverst\u00e4ndlich Frauen gibt und auch schon immer gab, die Science-Fiction schreiben. Sie sind zwar gegen\u00fcber ihren m\u00e4nnlichen Kollegen in der Minderzahl, aber eben nicht gar nicht vorhanden. Dass ein solches Missverh\u00e4ltnis sowohl bez\u00fcglich der Geschlechterverteilung als auch der Sichtbarkeit im Kulturbetrieb keine Seltenheit ist, zeigen Studien wie im Auftrag des Deutschen Kulturrats erstellte Studie \u201eFrauen in Kultur und Medien\u201c von 2016 und die vom Projekt \u201e#Frauenz\u00e4hlen\u201c durchgef\u00fchrte Untersuchung \u201eZur Sichtbarkeit von Frauen in Medien und im Literaturbetrieb\u201c von 2018. Dass insbesondere die Science Fiction ein umk\u00e4mpftes Genre ist, zeigte die hitzige Debatte um den Wikipedia-Eintrag \u201eListe deutschsprachiger Science-Fiction-Autorinnen\u201c im M\u00e4rz 2019: Sowohl einzelnen der dort gelisteten Autorinnen als auch der Liste insgesamt wurde die enzyklop\u00e4dische Relevanz abgesprochen, die Bedeutung der Liste als wichtiges Instrument der Sichtbarmachung und Forschungsinitiierung negiert.<\/p>\n<p>Diese Debatte und auch Forschungen f\u00fcr den US-amerikanischen Raum weisen darauf hin, dass im Falle der Science Fiction wahrscheinlich mehrere Faktoren zusammenkommen, die neben den allgemeinen Bedingungen des Kulturbetriebs eine Marginalisierung von Frauen beg\u00fcnstigen k\u00f6nnten: die sozial bedingte erschwerte Zug\u00e4nglichkeit technisch-mathematischer Ausbildungsg\u00e4nge bewirkte \u00fcber lange Zeit auch einen tats\u00e4chlichen niedrigeren Bildungsstand von Frauen im Vergleich zu M\u00e4nnern in diesem Bereich, was sich auch auf das Schreiben von Science Fiction als \u201atechnischem\u2018 Genre niedergeschlagen haben k\u00f6nnte; als popul\u00e4res Genre spielt bei Science Fiction die Fankultur eine nicht unbedeutende Rolle \u2013 diese k\u00f6nnte sich f\u00fcr Frauen als unzug\u00e4nglicher erwiesen haben als f\u00fcr M\u00e4nner.<\/p>\n<p>Bislang beschr\u00e4nkt sich die Erforschung dieses Ph\u00e4nomens auf Mutma\u00dfungen, Analogien aus dem US-amerikanischen Bereich oder dem Kulturbetrieb allgemein. Diesem Manko wollen die 37. Wetzlarer Tage der Phantastik abhelfen, unter dem Motto \u201eWeibliche Perspektiven der Zukunft\u201c soll zum einen deutschsprachigen Science-Fiction-Autorinnen zu mehr Sichtbarkeit verholfen werden, zum anderen aber auch Fragen \u00fcber die Ursachen der Unsichtbarkeit bzw. Unterrepr\u00e4sentanz nachgegangen werden.<\/p>\n<p>Dies soll in 20-min\u00fctigen Vortr\u00e4gen vorrangig anhand von Autorinnenportr\u00e4ts geschehen \u2013 als Orientierung f\u00fcr m\u00f6gliche Beitr\u00e4ge mag der Wikipedia-Eintrag \u201eListe deutschsprachiger Science-Fiction-Autorinnen\u201c dienen.
