Under new legislation, a voucher system will essentially mean that taxpayers support this sort of thing.<\/p>\n<p>It seems as though it should be a parody \u2013 but so did <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/religionprof\/2012\/06\/the-letters-after-this-candidates-name-are-bs.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">Answers in Genesis\u2019 billboard with a fire-breathing dragon<\/a>. Yet both are disturbingly real.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.heraldscotland.com\/news\/education\/how-american-fundamentalist-schools-are-using-nessie-to-disprove-evolution.17918511\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">The report from Scotland \u2013 Nessie\u2019s alleged home \u2013 adds additional poignancy to the well-deserved mockery<\/a>. It also provides a direct quote from the specific textbook in question.\u00a0<em>Biology 1099<\/em>, a textbook created by Accelerated Christian Education Inc, reads:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Are dinosaurs alive today? Scientists are becoming more convinced of their existence. Have you heard of the \u2018Loch Ness Monster\u2019 in Scotland? \u2018Nessie\u2019 for short has been recorded on sonar from a small submarine, described by eyewitnesses, and photographed by others. Nessie appears to be a plesiosaur.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Disturbing indeed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/24.media.tumblr.com\/tumblr_m66nm9Pnz91r71s6to1_500.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"435\"><\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Several bloggers and media outlets are reporting that a Christian textbook used in Louisiana points to the Loch Ness Monster, and stories perhaps inspired by Godzilla, as allegedly evidence against evolution.
