Over at the Mandaean Book of John translation project blog, my collaborator Charles Haberl has posted the first in a series of blog posts on what may be the most challenging section of the Book of John: the Soulfisher<\/a>. The translation difficulties are such that Mark Lidzbarski, who translated the Book of John into German in the early 20th century, almost abandoned the project because of this section.
