Here is the <a href=\"https:\/\/umich.zoom.us\/webinar\/register\/WN_QyDBm-8uRV67pLu8EDIfKA\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">registration link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-88145\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.patheos.com\/blogs\/sites\/719\/2021\/03\/F859AE84-AC25-4A2A-99EE-4B3318F19A39.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"497\" height=\"768\"><\/p>\n<p>As I have been both working on the lecture and planning to share a reminder here on the blog, I decided to include in this post some links related to topics that I will mention in my talk. Here are some of those:<\/p>\n<p>There is a fascinating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.narniaweb.com\/2020\/10\/out-of-the-silent-plnaet\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">account of how a coin toss influenced C. S. Lewis\u2019 space trilogy<\/a>, an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.transpositions.co.uk\/cslewis-science-fiction\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">opera based on it<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/epistleofdude.wordpress.com\/2017\/11\/30\/c-s-lewis-discusses-science-fiction-with-kingsley-amis-and-brian-aldiss\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Lewis\u2019 conversation about science fiction<\/a> that was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unz.com\/print\/Encounter-1965mar-00061\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">published as \u201cUnreal Estates,\u201d<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/apilgriminnarnia.com\/2015\/06\/17\/1950ssf\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">his opinions about Ray Bradbury, Arthur C. Clarke<\/a>, and others.<\/p>\n<p>There is, while we\u2019re at it, a nice <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2010\/LIVING\/08\/02\/Bradbury\/index.html#:~:text=Both%20were%20infrequent%20churchgoers.,but%20he%20rejects%20that%20term.\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">tribute to Bradbury that explores his religious views<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There are helpful discussions of <a href=\"https:\/\/onlineacademiccommunity.uvic.ca\/sociologyofreligion\/2018\/12\/02\/the-gilead-mirrors-christian-fundamentalism\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Margaret Atwood<\/a> and her views on religion written by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/annaczarnikneimeyer.wordpress.com\/2017\/05\/02\/i-asked-margaret-atwood-about-religion-and-this-is-what-she-said\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Anna Czarnik-Neimeyer<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/sojo.net\/articles\/margaret-atwood-christianity-handmaid-s-tale-and-what-faithful-activism-looks-today\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Layton E. Williams<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/onfaithcanada.blogspot.com\/2019\/01\/margaret-atwood-im-not-anti-religious.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">John Longhurst<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There are <a href=\"https:\/\/alexmoreland.co.uk\/2017\/04\/14\/ten-years-of-the-tenth-doctor-gridlock\/#:~:text=The%20crux%20of%20the%20episode,%2C%20and%20essentially%20offer%20hope%E2%80%9D.\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">discussions of the Doctor Who episode \u201cGridlock\u201d<\/a> and its <a href=\"https:\/\/randomwhoness.com\/2015\/06\/13\/faith-contradiction-and-gridlock-2007\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">hymn-singing<\/a>, as well as focused <a href=\"https:\/\/askherabouthymn.com\/when-nothing-in-life-seems-stable-what-hymn-reminds-us-that-there-is-one-who-changes-not\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">treatments of hymns like \u201cAbide With Me\u201d<\/a> that appear in the episode.
