This\u00a0BAFTSS SFF<\/strong>\u00a0SIG event is partly a book launch for\u00a0Doctor Who: New Dawn<\/em>\u00a0(recently published by Manchester University Press and edited by Brigid Cherry, Matt Hills and Andrew O\u2019Day) and partly a chance to analyse the six-part series\u00a0Doctor Who: Flux<\/em>, which runs from October to December 2021. It features two contributors to New Dawn,\u00a0Lorna Jowett<\/strong>\u00a0(University of Northampton) and\u00a0Matt Hills\u00a0<\/strong>(University of Huddersfield), alongside\u00a0Ross Garner<\/strong>\u00a0(Cardiff University), who has previously worked with the Doctor Who production office. The panelists will deliver the following presentations:<\/p>\nGender and Queerness in Doctor Who<\/strong>\u00a0(Lorna Jowett)<\/p>\nThe Thirteenth Doctor During (and After) Lockdown<\/strong>\u00a0(Matt Hills)<\/p>\nCardiff and Commerce: Doctor Who\u2019s Locations and Futures with Bad Wolf<\/strong>\u00a0(Ross Garner)<\/p>\nAfter these initial presentations, everyone will have a chance to ask questions and participate in a wider discussion of both\u00a0Flux<\/em>\u00a0and the soon-to-conclude \u2018Jodie Whittaker era\u2019 of\u00a0Doctor Who<\/em>.<\/p>\nThis event will take place<\/strong>\u00a0online via Zoom.
