The announcement by Karen King<\/a> about the Coptic fragment which has Jesus mentioning \u201cmy wife\u201d is, unsurprisingly, continuing<\/a> to get<\/a> much<\/a> attention<\/a> and generate<\/a> much<\/a> discussion<\/a>. Rather than keep updating yesterday\u2019s post on the topic<\/a>, I thought that a follow-up post would be more appropriate, rounding up the blogging and media reporting of the \u201cGospel of Jesus\u2019 Wife\u201d since then. Hence my calling this post \u201c2 Jesus\u2019 Wife\u201d \u2013 following the Biblical mode of reference in tongue-in-cheek fashion.<\/p>\n

\"\"NBC offered some balanced considerations, quoting me and several other scholar-bloggers<\/a>. Joel Watts expressed his appreciation for the reporting<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jared Calaway offered a photo, transcription and translation<\/a> followed by preliminary notes and a hypothesis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jim Davila<\/a> and Mark Goodacre<\/a> offer perspectives reflecting appropriate scholarly caution (UPDATE: So too does Peter Williams<\/a>). Christian Askeland<\/a>,\u00a0Paul Barford<\/a>,\u00a0Tom Verenna<\/a> and\u00a0Jim West<\/a> expressed suspicion about authenticity and\/or the motives of the owner of the fragment.<\/p>\n
