This was at the headquarters of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white;border: 0px;line-height: 18px;margin-bottom: 1em;margin-top: 1em;padding: 0px;text-align: justify;vertical-align: baseline\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif\">The late Njuba diligently and honestly served FDC as National Chairman.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white;border: 0px;line-height: 18px;margin-bottom: 1em;margin-top: 1em;padding: 0px;text-align: justify;vertical-align: baseline\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif\">Njuba was undoubtedly one of the most important statesmen of his generation having straddled the fight to bring the ruling party to power but later struggled intrepidly against the same government.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white;border: 0px;line-height: 18px;margin-bottom: 1em;margin-top: 1em;padding: 0px;text-align: justify;vertical-align: baseline\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif\">He will go down in the annals of our history as one of the few men and women, of his time, who stood firm and consistently for rule of law, constitutionalism and genuine service to the nation.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white;border: 0px;line-height: 18px;margin-bottom: 1em;margin-top: 1em;padding: 0px;text-align: justify;vertical-align: baseline\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif\">From the late 1990s, Njuba unwaveringly stayed in opposition trenches with Dr Kizza Besigye.
