If I had to choose one phrase to sum up my deep connection to the Jesus movement, it would probably be the ancient Christian proclamation,\u00a0<\/span>Jesus is Lord. \u00a0<\/i>(These three words are way more substantial and\u00a0<\/span>traditional\u00a0<\/i>than the current phrases Christians often point to:\u00a0<\/span>God bless America; One nation under God;\u00a0<\/i>etc\u2026)<\/span>

Jesus is Lord<\/i>, for me, means that there are many things that are\u00a0<\/span>not<\/i>\u00a0\u2013 money, nations, football\u2026and, yes, the Bible. \u00a0I don\u2019t worship the Bible. \u00a0It\u2019s the word of God, but it\u2019s not the only thing God ever said (<\/span>in the words of my fantastic mentor and godmother, Lori<\/a>).\u00a0<\/span>

Okay, on to the list!<\/span>

#7 \u2013 The so-called \u201cRapture.\u201d \u00a0<\/b><\/span>

<\/span><\/b>The\u00a0<\/span>Left-Behind\u00a0<\/i>series is a fictional tale (an overwhelmingly best-selling fictional tale, but complete fiction nonetheless). \u00a0It comes from a\u00a0<\/span>particular theology that was created around 100 years ago<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 an admittedly interesting concoction,\u00a0composed of random pieces from Daniel, Revelation, and Paul\u2019s letter to the Christian community in Thessalonica \u2013 and has been snatched up by plenty of theologians who act as though this was handed down by God before the creation itself.<\/span>
