Dr. O\u2019Shan D.\u00a0Gadsden is a young scholar and clinician who brings a psycho-racial-cultural-spiritual\u00a0perspective to the field of applied psychology and to his work as both a researcher and insight-oriented practitioner.\u00a0 Dr. Gadsden earned a B.P.S. in Professional Studies from Metropolitan College of New York City (2003); a MA in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University of New York City (2005); and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Howard University (2012).<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Dr. Gadsden completed his Pre-Doctoral training at the University of Delaware\u2019s Center for Counseling & Development (2012) and a Post-Doctoral Clinical Fellowship at JFK Behavioral Health Center in Philadelphia, PA (2013).\u00a0 Currently, Dr. Gadsden is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at Alliant International University (California School of Professional Psychology) in Fresno, CA (Core Faculty in their APA accredited Clinical Psy.D Program).<\/span><\/div>\n

Dr. Gadsden\u2019s current research explores the\u00a0relationship between gender socialization, hypermasculinity, religiosity, and emotional intimacy in African-American adult males;\u00a0the clinical utility of spirituality\/religion in working with African-American patients; and the clinical utility of psychodynamic and Frierian theory in working with underserved communities. In addition to his research and writing, Dr. Gadsden is a publisher author (Journal article and book chapter); and has presented at both local, regional, and national conferences. \u00a0He also blogs at awordforthesoul<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

Dr. Gadsden believes that his life\u2019s purpose is to assist individuals more deeply understand themselves; walk in their authentic selves; and work through any intrapsychic and environmental variables that might impede their highest level of individual and collective\u00a0consciousness.\u00a0 He lives by the quote: \u201cWhat you are seeking is already seeking you!\u201d\u00a0 And so it is!!<\/span><\/u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n
