Last fall, the <a href='https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/library\/mormonism' target='_blank'>LDS church<\/a> spent millions on billboards, bus banners, and Facebook ads touting \u201cI\u2019m a Mormon.\u201d\u00a0 In Canada, the Catholic Church has launched a \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.catholicscomehome.org\/\" style=\"background-color: transparent;border: 0px;color: red;margin: 0px;padding: 0px;text-decoration: initial;vertical-align: baseline\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Come Home<\/a>\u201d marketing campaign.\u00a0 The Southern Baptists Convention voted to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/awaypoint.wordpress.com\/2012\/06\/27\/oops-rebranding-of-southern-baptists-reveals-more-than-intended\/\" style=\"background-color: transparent;border: 0px;color: red;margin: 0px;padding: 0px;text-decoration: initial;vertical-align: baseline\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">rebrand themselves<\/a>. A\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2009\/01\/11\/magazine\/11punk-t.html?_r=0\" style=\"background-color: transparent;border: 0px;color: red;margin: 0px;padding: 0px;text-decoration: initial;vertical-align: baseline\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">hipster mega-church<\/a>\u00a0in Seattle combines smart advertising with sales force training for members and a strategy the Catholics have emphasized for centuries: competitive breeding.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"toggle-group target hideOnInit\" style=\"background-color: white;border: 0px;line-height: 18px;margin: 0px;padding: 0px 0px 1px;vertical-align: baseline\">\n<div style=\"background-color: transparent;border: 0px;margin: 0px;padding: 0px;vertical-align: baseline\">\n<div style=\"background-color: transparent;border: 0px;line-height: 20px;margin-bottom: 15px;margin-top: 15px;padding: 0px;vertical-align: baseline\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif\">In October of 2012 the Pew Research Center\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/uk.reuters.com\/article\/2012\/10\/09\/us-usa-religion-unaffiliated-idUKBRE89813G20121009\" style=\"background-color: transparent;border: 0px;color: red;margin: 0px;padding: 0px;text-decoration: initial;vertical-align: baseline\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">announced<\/a>\u00a0that for the first time ever Protestant Christians had fallen below 50 percent of the American population. Atheists cheered and evangelicals beat their breasts and lamented the end of the world as we know it.
