Two best friends featured in the upcoming documentary film\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Hip-Hop-Hijabis-The-Film\/229352457195511\" style=\"border: 0px;color: #173367;font: inherit;margin: 0px;padding: 0px;vertical-align: baseline\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><em style=\"border: 0px;font: inherit;margin: 0px;padding: 0px;vertical-align: baseline\">Hip Hop Hijabis<\/em><\/a>\u00a0did the exact opposite.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white;border: 0px;color: #222222;font: inherit;line-height: 18px;margin-bottom: 13px;padding: 0px;vertical-align: baseline\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif\">Born in Bristol to Jamaican parents, they converted to Islam in 2005, started wearing the hijab, and changed their names to Sukina Abdul Noor and Muneera Rashida. Together they are known as the hip hop duo Poetic Pilgrimage and have toured internationally to critical acclaim.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white;border: 0px;color: #222222;font: inherit;line-height: 18px;margin-bottom: 13px;padding: 0px;vertical-align: baseline\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif\">It is estimated there are a total of 100,000 British converts to Islam, a majority of them are women and a growing number are black youth from the inner cities. Combined with immigration, this has made Islam the second largest religion in the UK at around five percent of the population according to the latest census data.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white;border: 0px;color: #222222;font: inherit;line-height: 18px;margin-bottom: 13px;padding: 0px;vertical-align: baseline\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif\">Polls indicate that roughly half of all Britons think that is too many and that\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/comment\/comment\/ian-birrell-we-have-nothing-to-fear-from-our-muslim-citizens-8405793.html\" style=\"border: 0px;color: #173367;font: inherit;margin: 0px;padding: 0px;vertical-align: baseline\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">\u201cMuslims create problems in the UK\u201d reports an\u00a0<em style=\"border: 0px;font: inherit;margin: 0px;padding: 0px;vertical-align: baseline\">Evening Standard<\/em>\u00a0article<\/a>.
