You\u2019d never know that from reading the Republican platform, especially in regard to the anti-abortion language that asserts the \u201csanctity and dignity of human life.\u201d That section affirms that the \u201cunborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed\u201d and calls for a \u201chuman life amendment to the Constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n

Astonishingly, there is no mention of an exception on abortion in the cases of rape or incest; no mention even of such an exception to save the life of the mother. No qualification at all when it comes to even the life of a woman being protected.<\/p>\n

Aren\u2019t women\u2019s lives included in the category of \u201cthe sanctity and dignity of human life?\u201d
