After tackling the faiths of George W. Bush and Barack Obama, conservative Evangelical writer Stephen Mansfield has moved on to a new subject: Mormonism<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Whispers obtained a preview copy of Mansfield\u2019s \u201cThe Mormonizing of America,\u201d out June 26, which refers to powerful Mormons<\/a> like Glenn Beck, Harry Reid and yes, Mitt Romney, as part of the \u201cMormon Machine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mansfield spends much of the book explaining why Mormons have achieved the \u201cstunning level of influence\u201d they have today. In many ways, he writes, Mormons\u2019 success in adulthood is tied to the two-year mission expected of them when they are young.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe lonely, difficult, even dangerous experience has fashioned some of the most successful leaders,\u201d he writes.<\/p>\n

One of those leaders: GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
