The Rhetoric Race and Religion book club will convene on June 4, 2012 at 6:00pm\u00a0at the\u00a0 Caritas Village located at 2509 Harvard in Memphis, Tennessee.\u00a0<\/a>For those not able to make it in person, we will conduct a live tweet chat starting at 7:15pm (CST) using #R3bookclub #sistercitizen<\/b>. After the first Mondays of the month, we continue the discussion on twitter every Monday in the month at 7:15pm (CST). <\/i>Donna Brazile notes that \u201cSister Citizen carefully documents the complex challenges and hurdles Black women face in the 21st century. Harris-Perry\u2019s book is both insightful and provocative.\u201d Henry Louis Gates notes that \u201cMelissa Harris-Perry is one of our most trenchant readers of modern black life. In Sister Citizen, she gives new life to the idea that \u2018the personal is political.\u2019 This book will change the conversation about the rights, responsibilities, and burdens of citizenship.\u201d <\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span>The book club is free and open to the public.
