In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the watershed Voting Rights Act of 1965, R3 Editor\u00a0<\/span>Dr. Andre E. Johnson<\/a> will teach a course titled <\/span>\u201cTowards the Beloved Community: The Rhetorical Trajectory of Martin Luther King, Jr.\u201d<\/a> at the <\/span>Meeman Center<\/a> on the campus of Rhodes College. In this class, students will engage in a careful reading of major sermons, speeches, and writings from King to discover a rhetorical trajectory that moved him towards the construction of the Beloved Community.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

\u00a0The Center will offer the four-week class on Tuesday nights in February starting February 3 and meeting from 5:30-7:30pm. Cost of the class in $120.00. For more information and\/or to enroll, call Tammy Sears at 843-3962.\u00a0<\/span>\n

Meeman Center for Lifelong Learning is Rhodes\u2019 commitment to learning as a lifelong process. Since its inception in 1944, the Center has been an integral part of the College, successfully engaging adults of the Mid-South in the liberal arts and sciences. Meeman Center promotes personal and professional development by extending Rhodes\u2019 tradition of excellence in liberal education to individuals and businesses.
