When Jesus was asked, \u201cTeacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?\u201d he replied, \u201cFirst, you shall love the Lord your God; and second, you shall love your neighbor as yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIn everything,\u201d he said, \u201cdo to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Talmud says that in Roman times, a nonbeliever approached the famous Rabbi Hillel and challenged him to teach the meaning of the Torah while standing on one leg.
