Debates have long stemmed from the question: how far is too far when it comes to punishing children? Discipline is necessary, but according to recent reports, some\u00a0parents \u201cbeat\u201d their children while claiming it\u2019s God\u2019s will<\/a>.<\/div>\n
A\u00a0story on CNN\u2019s \u201cAnderson Cooper 360\u201d<\/a>\u00a0explored several incidents of abuse and in some cases, death, that have ties to parents who believed religious writings told them it was OK to discipline their children in that fashion.\u00a0Last month,\u00a0Larry and Carri Williams were arrested and charged with homicide by abuse\u00a0<\/a>in Washington after their adopted daughter Hana was found naked and unconscious in the family\u2019s yard and pronounced dead at the hospital, the\u00a0Skagit Vallery Herald<\/em>reports.<\/div>\n

Hana, 13, showed signs of physical abuse and malnutrition, which were thought to have contributed to her death. Court documents indicated that the parents used to lock Hana in a closet and \u201cplayed the Bible on tape and Christian music for her while she was locked inside,<\/a>\u201d KOMO explains.<\/div>\n
