For two weeks I taught Qur\u2019anic peacemaking & intersection with nature at my masjid. You can say a hundred things about the Muslim community. You can say what we are not. Let me tell you what we are:<\/p>\n

A brother recovering from drug addiction now utilizing his faith to build a new life.<\/p>\n

A sister recently migrated who faces deep discrimination at work and in life, yet learns to keep her faith as a central tool for
\nreconciliation with others<\/p>\n

A psychologist who built a domestic violence program that serves families from all over our region.<\/p>\n

We are simply one of the most diverse, profoundly thoughtful & engaged communities. We make our faith and love of God one that transforms and heals so much in this world.<\/p>\n

Know us. Sit with us. Before you speak about us, speak to us.<\/p>\n

Najeeba Syeed<\/a>\u00a0is an Assistant professor at Claremont School of Theology teaching in the area of\u00a0Interreligious Education. She also serves as Director of the\u00a0Center For Global Peacemaking<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n
