This coming Sunday, as we begin a new series at my church, I\u2019ll be sharing about the tension between being sojourners and settling down. Adopted, itinerant, and always looking beyond the horizon, I feel as if it\u2019s taken my whole life to learn the value staying, and continuity, and place. \u00a0Now, just as I\u2019m starting to get it, my oldest daughter is leaving, moving to Europe for \u201cawhile\u201d, in response to God\u2019s call on her life. \u00a0Ironic isn\u2019t it? \u00a0I\u2019m learning to settle as she\u2019s picking up her tent and moving \u2013 both of us growing in response to God. \u00a0I love her fiercely because we share so much.
