There are many interesting models of good leadership but I believe the best anywhere can be found in the the lives of three men who had an enormous impact in the 1st Century.<\/p>\n<p>In a few short months Paul, Timothy, and Silas, three men of distinctly different personalities equipped leaders who built one of the healthiest and successful churches in the New Testament. They were leading a start up and they got amazing results.<\/p>\n<p>These leaders modeled 10 core principles recorded in 1 Thessalonians 2:7-12.\u00a0 Two of these are implicit and eight are explicit.<br><b><br>\u00a0\u00a0 1. Team Oriented. <\/b>They worked together. And, they all manifested and lived out the same principles regardless of personality. So you can say, \u201cit\u2019s just not my personality.\u201d<b><br>\u00a0\u00a0 2. Disciplined Life. <\/b>They consistently and persistently lived out these principles. They were patterned, disciplined and built these as core competencies.<b><br>\u00a0\u00a0 3. Gentle Spirit. <\/b>They cared for their people \u201clike a nursing mother tenderly cares for here child.\u201d Think of that metaphor and the tenderness it elicits.<b><br>\u00a0\u00a0 4. Fond Affection. <\/b>They authentically cared for these people. They \u201cloved them so much\u201d that they lived out this life of sacrifice and commitment.<b><br>\u00a0\u00a0 5. Effective Communications. <\/b>The connected with people. They knew had to listen and how to deliver truth.<b><br>\u00a0\u00a0 6. Personal Openness. <\/b>They were transparent and knew how to \u201cimpart their own lives.\u201d The word is \u201csoul\u201d. They opened up their lives (good and bad) to those they served.<b><br>\u00a0\u00a0 7. Servant Leadership. <\/b>They understood the power of serving others and leading in a way that met others.<b><br>\u00a0\u00a0 8. Hard Work. <\/b>They \u201cworked night and day\u201d so they wouldn\u2019t burden people. They were tireless.<b><br>\u00a0\u00a0 9. Strong Model. <\/b>They were good models before others and God. They didn\u2019t fake it but walked their talk.<b><br>\u00a0 10. Caring Confrontation. <\/b>They confronted and encouraged like \u201ca father\u201d because they wanted these people to grow and become all God had in mind for them.<\/p>\n<p>So how about you?
