Jonathan Merritt says this about the book: \u201cAn invitation to fall in love with a God who looks more like a crucified savior than a celestial dictator.\u201d Kathy Escobar: \u201cHumility, wisdom, and lived experience that challenges our faith and calls us to practice following Jesus more fully, more freely, more expansively.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, as glowing as those and other recommendations are, A God Who Looks Like Jesus is bound to create some consternation among especially conservative Christian readers. For example, how are we to interpret the Old Testament \u201ctexts of terror\u201d in light of Jesus as the perfect revelation of God\u2019s character? Or is he?<\/p>\n

So order the book and watch for my review of the Introduction and first chapter (The One Eternal Word) in two weeks.<\/p>\n
