My dear friend, Brad, has a beautiful greyhound dog named Remus. Remus was just diagnosed with cancer. I wrote the following poem for him:<\/span><\/p>\n

Full moon shines tonight<\/div>\n
you see it, brother, better than I<\/div>\n
it was your kin who once howled<\/div>\n
and I simply gaze, amazed<\/div>\n
at how your pain must ring<\/div>\n
outside my senses<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
It is round, a star, a stare<\/div>\n
a gaze for me<\/div>\n
but for you \u2014<\/div>\n
you must sense more and more and more<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
So as I read and hear<\/div>\n
sad reports of pain and death and loss<\/div>\n
I cannot mourn you, properly<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
For those who gaze at stars<\/div>\n
can never howl at them<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
So howl a prayer for me<\/div>\n
and I\u2019ll whisper one for you<\/div>\n
