When did you first make a decision to be a good parent?<\/p>\n

I came across that quote while on studying the book\u00a0Handbook for Preclears<\/em> at\u00a0my local church<\/a>. It was in a fascinating section where the author is talking about the effect it can have on one\u2019s life when one makes a decision about something, and forgets to \u201cunmake\u201d that decision, or re-evaluate one\u2019s current surrounds and make a new one.<\/p>\n

It made me think of so many young parents that I\u2019ve seen that are still trying to \u201cbe college kids\u201d or still trying to \u201cbe a party animal\u201d or a hot chick guy-magnet or whatever. They have pieces of their life that they\u2019ve made decisions on at one time or another \u2013 things that they decided were important which they\u2019ve never really re-evaluated and made a new decision about.<\/p>\n

The section is fascinating, as is the rest of the book.<\/p>\n

Handbook for Preclears is actually a self-help book which has processes that one can work over with oneself, and shake some of these things loose, to one\u2019s own considerable benefit.
