On Wednesday, September 12, the grand opening of the Church of Scientology\u2019s National Affairs Office was held in Washington, D.C. The Pastor and the Community Affairs Director of the Nashville Church attended and assisted with the festivities.<\/p>\n

Located in the historic Fraser Mansion at Dupont Circle, the new National Affairs Office stands as the central point from which the Church coordinates its many social and humanitarian initiatives on a national and international level.<\/p>\n

Pastor of the Nashville church Rev. Brian Fesler said, \u201cHaving a central coordinating point for all of the church\u2019s community programs is vital. This national office will streamline activities from the national level down to local and back up so we can do even more to help our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n

The establishment of the National Affairs Office is necessitated by the Church of Scientology\u2019s unprecedented worldwide growth and commensurate demand for Church-sponsored programs. These programs include a worldwide human rights initiative; equally far-ranging drug education, prevention and rehabilitation programs; a wide-reaching criminal reform program; a global network of literacy and learning centers; a moral education movement restoring the brotherhood of Man; and the Scientology Volunteer Ministers, the world\u2019s largest independent relief force providing emergency response at major disaster sites for more than a decade.<\/p>\n

The Nashville Community Affairs Director, Julie Brinker, commented, \u201cWe\u2019ve had people in our nation\u2019s capital for years, but this will take it to a whole new level. It will mean greater reach for our community programs, which in turn will mean thousands more educated on the truth about drugs and their basic human rights.
