The children shuffle down the stairs, hair wild and breath fierce.\u00a0 I\u2019m attempting a moment of peace with my bible in my lap and my heart straining to find God\u2019s before the day starts, but they hijacked my morning.\u00a0 Again.<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cCereal?\u00a0 Eggs?\u00a0 Toast and jam?\u00a0 No, I\u2019m not making pancakes!\u201d\u00a0 They sulk and I drink coffee as if it\u2019s my life source.\u00a0 Again.<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Mittens hiding, sock holey, shoes freezing in the van, favorite shirt is dirty.\u00a0 I\u2019m rushing to get them out the door dressed and warm. Again.<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
New forms to fill out, new people to meet, new procedures to learn, new role as New City Go-to Gal to fill.\u00a0 I\u2019m struggling with my shortcomings.\u00a0 Again.<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cBabe, did you send out that tax receipt? \u201c My pastor and husband says at the end of the day,\u00a0 \u201cOh no, I\u2019ve forgotten it!\u201d\u00a0 Again<\/b>.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Wishing and hoping.\u00a0 Thinking and praying.\u00a0 Planning and dreaming.\u00a0 For New City\u2019s staff, launch team, and location.\u00a0 Trusting that God\u2019s got it all in hand.\u00a0 Again.\u00a0 <\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
The children come home, rummaging through the fridge, pouring out their backpacks, squeezing my waist with hugs, and rubbing cold noses against mine. My house is loud and the transition is not smooth, but at 2 o\u2019clock M-F joy comes home.\u00a0 Again.<\/b> <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
He wraps his arms around me in the corner of our tiny, cold kitchen while the kids watch goofy Disney actors attempts at karate (again<\/b>) and for a moment we\u2019re not church planters, we\u2019re not tired parents, we\u2019re not \u201cgo-to\u201d girl and \u201cpastor\u201d, we\u2019re Osheta and T.C., crazy kids who started their life together in the Big Easy with big dreams on our minds and big love in our hearts.\u00a0 I\u2019m comforted.\u00a0 Again.<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
I lay in my bed with my iPhone under my pillow, thinking back through the day that feels like all the days before it\u00ad\u2013stressful, eye opening, whirlwind, joyful, and comforting.\u00a0 <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
And I thank God and hope I get to do it all again <\/b>tomorrow.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
