If Jesus sat across from me this morning as I sip my coffee and let the kids indulge in some before school TV, I\u2019d tell him he was crazy.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cYes, Yes, you\u2019re Lord of All, King of Kings, Savior of the World, Great Rabbi and Word Made Flesh, but you\u2019re still crazy<\/i>.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Look at your life and ministry!\u00a0\u00a0Championing the oppressed, upsetting men in power, teaching controversial things like, \u201cblessed are the poor in spirit\u201d and \u201ctake up your cross and follow me\u201d.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Healing the ear of a man coming to take you to your very own cross. Dying for sinful me, when you yourself were perfect and blame free.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
You\u2019re crazy.\u00a0 We\u2019re you afraid at all?\u00a0 <\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
When the men marched towards you with anger and fear in their eyes\u2026weren\u2019t you afraid?<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
When your mama begged you to stop teaching the things that would surely get you placed on that cross\u2026weren\u2019t you afraid?<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Sure, you\u2019re fully God.\u00a0 But you\u2019re fully man too.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
And I know about being fully man!\u00a0\u00a0Full of humanly fears and worries. Fear of men with guns in elementary schools.\u00a0 Fear of planting a church no one will come to.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Hello? Type-A, oldest child over here.\u00a0 <\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Worry is my middle name.\u00a0 <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Tell me.\u00a0 How is it you were able to do it all?\u00a0 Fearless and fierce, my Lord?\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
I gulp my French vanilla coffee as He reminds me of a moment in a river.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
When a Dove decended and a Voice spoke the words that filled Him with confidence before starting His dangerous ministry. <\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cThis is my Son, in whom I\u2019m well pleased\u201d.\u00a0 <\/span><\/i><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cI had my Father with me. I was never alone, nor forsaken\u201d.\u00a0 <\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
And I get it.\u00a0 It\u2019s ok to be afraid, natural even, but my Heavenly Father is with me. I am not alone.\u00a0 I am not forsaken.\u00a0 I can trust in His goodness, rely on His faithfulness, and let His Voice fill me with peace. I do not have to worry!\u00a0 <\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
I can remember the birds and the lilies. <\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
I can remember the resurrection!<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
I can remember the Holy Spirit, my Comforter and Encourager. <\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
I can get my steep on.<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cOk, Lord. Let\u2019s be crazy together.\u00a0 Help me be fierce and fearless. Full of faith and full of confidence\u2026just like you.<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n
