Psalm 122<\/a><\/p>\n

I rejoiced with those who said to me,<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u201cLet us go to the house of the\u00a0Lord.\u201d<\/a>
\n2\u00a0Our feet are standing<\/a>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0in your gates, Jerusalem.<\/a><\/p>\n

\n

3\u00a0Jerusalem is built like a city<\/a>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0that is closely compacted together.<\/a>
\n4\u00a0That is where the tribes go up\u2014<\/a>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0the tribes of the\u00a0Lord\u2014<\/a>
\nto praise the name of the\u00a0Lord<\/a>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0according to the statute given to Israel.<\/a>
\n5\u00a0There stand the thrones for judgment,<\/a>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0the thrones of the house of David.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

6\u00a0Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:<\/a>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u201cMay those who love\u00a0you be secure.<\/a>
\n7\u00a0May there be peace\u00a0within your walls<\/a>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and security within your citadels.\u201d<\/a>
\n8\u00a0For the sake of my family and friends,<\/a>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I will say, \u201cPeace be within you.\u201d<\/a>
\n9\u00a0For the sake of the house of the\u00a0Lord\u00a0our God,<\/a>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I will seek your prosperity.<\/a><\/p>\n

This Scripture reminds me that I\u2019m part of a larger community of believers.<\/p>\n

The narrator of the podcast asks us to meditate on gratitude and our thankfulness to God. \u00a0This is an interesting take on Psalm 122, but is incredibly helpful when we think of diversity, unity, and the Body of Christ. Gratitude alters my perspective from pride to humility, anxiety to hope, certainty to confidence.<\/strong> \u00a0Unity grows in that rich soil, so I\u2019m going to thank God for all the diversity of colors, thought, culture, and age in the Body of Christ.<\/p>\n

I love what Ann Voskamp says of practicing thanksgiving:<\/p>\n

\u201cEucharisteo\u2014thanksgiving\u2014always precedes the miracle.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In a Real Housewives, Bridezilla, Gossip Girl culture that\u2019s teeming with strife, it feels like graceful unity is nothing short of a miracle, doesn\u2019t it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

So today I\u2019m thankful for the \u201cother woman\u201d.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m thankful for the tribes that affirm a blueprint theology because they model an unrelenting faith in the face of confusion.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m thankful for the tribes of women that choose to stay and minister in the suburbs instead of radically moving into the city because they radically model blooming where you\u2019re planted.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m thankful for the tribes that teach passionately on wifely submission to good and godly men, they reflect the Spirit empowered humility of Christ that submitted to Father.<\/p>\n

What \u201cother women\u201d are you thankful for? \u00a0Praise God for the ways they reveal his character to you, even though you may disagree with them on \u00a0significant points.<\/p>\n

God can use our gratitude to usher in his miracle of peace.<\/p>\n

So join me today in praying for peace, praying in gratitude, and rejoicing that we\u2019re a part of a loud, colorful, interesting family of God.<\/p>\n

Thankful for both the other woman and my tribe<\/em>, \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
