As soon as I read the prompt, \u2018Remember\u201d this scene from, \u201cThe Lion King\u201d popped into my head. \u00a0I watched it and was inspired to write \u00a0today\u2019s Five Minute Friday post on my struggle to remember my God-given identity. \u00a0I hope you enjoy, \u201cRemember Who You Are\u201d.<\/span>

Remember Who You Are<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/iframe><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">I try to remember, I do.\u00a0 I know all the verses\u2014true they are not \u201chidden in my\u201d heart but they\u2019re stored in my mind and recorded in my journal.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">One time, they meant something more to me. My highlighter streaked across the letters and words that formed life changing promises, like a shooting star on a bleak night.\u00a0 But like all shooting stars there\u2019s one perfect moment of brilliance, a trail of luminescence and then, it\u2019s back to black.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><br><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">That\u2019s how I feel this and every spring.\u00a0 When temperature and fashion requires me to shed my protective layers, my comfortable layers, my hiding layers to reveal the \u201creal\u201d me. \u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">The \u201cme\u201d that is defined by numbers on a tag. \u00a0<\/span>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><b>And I\u2019m reminded that I do not remember.\u00a0 <\/b><\/span><br><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"><b><br><\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">So the verses call out to me again,\u00a0<\/span><b style=\"font-family:Arial;\">\u201cRemember who you are\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">\u00a0from their tear stained but forgotten pages.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">I don\u2019t remember that they say I am more than what I\u2019ve become.\u00a0 I don\u2019t remember that I am defined by the King because He lives in me.\u00a0 I don\u2019t remember that my image reflects His and He is beautiful.\u00a0 Glorious.\u00a0 Mysterious.
