Seeing the burgeoning hope of a new day, I smiled after a night of fitfully tossing and thinking over our move.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re still in need of a home and we\u2019re three weeks away from our move.\u00a0 Crunch time.\u00a0 Scary Times.\u00a0 Time to put on my brave.<\/p>\n<p>But, can I tell you a secret?\u00a0 I\u2019m not so great in the crucible of faith.\u00a0 Yeah, <a href=\"http:\/\/deeperstory.com\/a-non-anxious-presence-at-the-helm\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">sure we evacuated New Orleans<\/a>,<a href=\"http:\/\/deeperstory.com\/before-you-get-off-this-bathroom-floor\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"> started a family too young<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/oshetablogs.wordpress.com\/2014\/06\/06\/goodbye-glory-baby-goodbye\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">planted a church that never took off<\/a>\u2013 I guess you can say I have great faith.\u00a0 But more often than not, when God calls me, it\u2019s a stumble towards him and not the coveted walk of a the surety that she\u2019s successfully been around the \u201cBig Faith\u201d block.<\/p>\n<p>No,\u00a0 I stumble and skin my knees and then stay there to pray because, seriously, I don\u2019t know what else to do. Some may say this is the right posture, but I want to be Xena, Warrior Princess of Faith terrific with the Sword of the Spirit and not some lady in waiting twiddling her fingers in fright. But, God keeps picking me up, dusting off my knees, and saying, \u201cAs you were.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This morning I realized that even though I\u2019m mousey at 8pm,\u00a0 I\u2019m Xena before the sunrises.\u00a0 When I wake up, drink a coffee, and accept the quiet of the morning, I\u2019m terrifying, y\u2019all.\u00a0 Truly.\u00a0\u00a0 Scriptures press into my heart soften with new mercies with ease in the morning. I can see truth shimmers in the dusk.\u00a0 I\u2019m fresh for the day and this morning,\u00a0 I realized with a great irritation that, \u201cOh God, I\u2019m a morning person, aren\u2019t I?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, I am.\u00a0 Like I told someone yesterday, \u201cI\u2019m on fire in the morning.\u00a0 If you need something done- have me do it before 6am.\u201d\u00a0 It\u2019s true, so, I guess I should own it,\u00a0 which brings me to today\u2019s post the first of a weekly series, I hope:\u00a0 \u201cSix Impossible Things Before Breakfast.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While watching the sun come up, I realized that could own the day.\u00a0 Fear would tremble at my resolve as I turn my face towards my day and not let it run me over from behind.\u00a0 Which made me think of my favorite scene from \u201cAlice in Wonderland\u201d where she finally defeats the Jabberwocky by leaning into the impossible and believing them to be truth.\u00a0 I loved how truth was subjective to her- everyone else already believed in food that make girls grow or drinks that shrink them.\u00a0 They believe wholeheartedly in the events of the Frabjous Day ending the Red Queen\u2019s tyranny.\u00a0 But Alice didn\u2019t-yet.\u00a0 She had to believe the impossible for herself and then she could defeat her greatest enemy.<\/p>\n<p>Hmmmmm\u2026 there\u2019s something there for me, this Early Riser, isn\u2019t there? Just because my impossibilities are proven truths for others, it\u2019s doesn\u2019t negate the herculean effort it takes for me to trust them, right? I mean, I\u2019m pretty easy to love my enemies but trust that God wants to give me good things- man- that\u2019s a daily toughie.<\/p>\n<p>So, I give you my six impossible things.\u00a0 My hope with this weekly exercise is that I marry my morning efficiency with positive thinking to prepare me for the day.\u00a0 Now, full Type-A disclosure here:\u00a0 some of my \u201cimpossible things\u201d might have a bit of a to-do tint to them, coloring the day with expectations, but I\u2019m ok with that.\u00a0 Believing I can do it is more than half the battle.<\/p>\n<p>I hope these inspire you to think of your own six impossible things.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3000\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3000\" style=\"width: 660px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/01\/saythemosheta.jpg\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-3000\" src=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/01\/saythemosheta.jpg?w=660\" alt='I can believe six impossible things before breakfast, \"Say them Osheta...\"  From Pinterest' width=\"660\" height=\"879\"><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3000\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">I can believe six impossible things before breakfast, \u201cSay them Osheta\u2026\u201d Photo Credit: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/pin\/104075441361482035\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">From Pinterest<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h4>1: I can purge, pack up, and clean the living room today.<\/h4>\n<p>2: Even though their mama has been a new brand of crazy this week what with my demanding when I should be encouraging, crying jags in the bathroom, and overfeeding of Kraft mac n cheese, my children will not be scarred for life!\u00a0 They will learn from <em>my<\/em> scars and together we\u2019ll grow as followers of the One who isn\u2019t ashamed to show his- especially if it helps another know him more truly.<\/p>\n<p>3: I can use my imagination for good and stop spinning out, completely worrying over my biggest fears about our move around.\u00a0 \u201cWhat if\u201d are pernicious words that are banned from my vocabulary today.<\/p>\n<h4>4: God can find us a house to settle in LA with enough room to host, the important comforts needed to relax, and\u00a0 good schools for the kids.\u00a0 He\u2019s my Omni-resourceful Father who wants to provide.\u00a0 If I , a mother wouldn\u2019t dream of leaving my children in a lurch then why do I think God would do that to me?\u00a0 Crazy-sauce thinking, all of it.<\/h4>\n<h4>5: Today,\u00a0 I can have a conversation with the hubs\u00a0 just to enjoy the sound of his voice and the timber of his laugh.<\/h4>\n<p>6:\u00a0 I can go to bed tonight know<strong> I did, I know, and I am enough<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Seeking Shalom Before Breakfast This Morning,<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/02\/signature.png\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-151\" src=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/02\/signature.png\" alt=\"signature\" width=\"124\" height=\"55\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This morning, the sun peeked out over the trees across from my kitchen door with eager orange and magenta rays attempting to chase away the wispy grays of night.
