Where did April go?\u00a0 My kids came home yesterday to give me very bad,\u00a0 terrifying news: they only have 24 more days in school\u00a0 Crazy, scary, thrilling news, right?\u00a0 I have a few ideas for \u201cCamp Mom\u201d this summer- what with the outdoor playland that is California- but y\u2019all where did last month, nonetheless the school year go?\u00a0 Oh..that\u2019s right.. we MOVED CROSS COUNTRY mid-year!<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019ll mess up your schedule like nothing else.<\/p>\n<p>I know what I spent most of last month focusing on though- getting settled in our new apartment.\u00a0 Today marks our second month here.\u00a0 We love our place in La Crescenta- it\u2019s in a good school district and we have some really cool neighbors.\u00a0 In fact, I\u2019m working on a post for y\u2019all about neighbors, chocolate chip cookies, and becoming *that* family,\u00a0 so stay tuned.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve spent most of my time decorating the apartment and painting furniture so, today\u2019s link up with my friend, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leighkramer.com\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Leigh Kramer\u2019s \u201cWhat I\u2019m into\u201d series<\/a> will be a home edition- all the things I\u2019m loving to make my house..er\u2026apartment, a home!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/05\/what.jpg\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3141\" src=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/05\/what.jpg\" alt=\"What\" width=\"250\" height=\"188\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h1>Witty Tea Towels<\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/04\/img_6047_2.jpg\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3122\" src=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/04\/img_6047_2.jpg?w=225\" alt=\"IMG_6047_2\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\"><\/a>This tea towel I bought from <a href=\"http:\/\/urbangirlaccessories.com\/home\/kitchen.html?p=2\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Urban Girl Accessories<\/a> makes me smile.\u00a0 I saw it in two different homes right before we left Boston, so I took that as a nudge from God that I needed to have it in my life!\u00a0 It\u2019s a fun reminder that \u201cHangry\u201d\u00a0 is a very real, very pervasive affliction and I suffer from it often :). Plus, my oldest, Tyson chuckles overtime he passes it in the kitchen and since he\u2019s in that sour tweeny, \u201cI\u2019m too cool for anything\u201d phase\u2026I call that a win!<\/p>\n<h1>My Gallery Wall<\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/04\/fullsizerender-2.jpg\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3123 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/04\/fullsizerender-2.jpg?w=660\" alt=\"FullSizeRender-2\" width=\"660\" height=\"495\"><\/a>Y\u2019all!\u00a0 I\u2019m too proud of this thing.\u00a0 It took me two weeks to plan it, four days to decide how to lay it out, and two hours to hang it. I\u2019m going to highlight a few of my favorite pieces:<\/p>\n<h1>Thrift-ed and Painted Chalkboard Tray<\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/04\/fullsizerender-4.jpg\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3121\" src=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/04\/fullsizerender-4.jpg?w=225\" alt=\"FullSizeRender-4\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\"><\/a>I bought this tray at a thrift store for $3 and spray painted it with chalkboard thinking it\u2019ll be a chic menu board.\u00a0 But, I loved the clean look of all black so much, that I haven\u2019t written on it yet.\u00a0 I\u2019m thinking about writing the word \u201cEAT\u201d in chalkboard in some cool font.\u00a0 <strong>What do you think?\u00a0 Leave it black or write on it?<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1>Art in Frames (except Deer Silhouette)<\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/05\/meandmybigideas.jpg\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3129 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/05\/meandmybigideas.jpg?w=660\" alt=\"MeAndMyBigIdeas\" width=\"660\" height=\"249\"><\/a>I collected frames from the free section at a yard sale\u00a0 but not sure what to put inside.\u00a0 There are tons of free printables pretty quotes or images online, SheReadsTruth (my favorite bible reading app) has some <a href=\"http:\/\/shereadstruth.bigcartel.com\/product\/his-eye-is-on-the-sparrow-8x10-11x14\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">lovely ones on sale<\/a> and I always follow<a href=\"http:\/\/shop.jonesdesigncompany.com\/product-category\/art-prints\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"> Jones Design Company<\/a> for inspiration, so the options are endless. And a bit overwhelming.\u00a0 Enter this amazing find:\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/shop.meandmybigideas.com\/collections\/gallery-art-pads\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Me and My Big Ideas Gallery Art Pad.<\/a>\u00a0 Wall gallery planning is SO MUCH EASIER with this set.\u00a0 There are 14 pages of high quality card stock images for you to choose from.\u00a0 The back has a guide for all the designs and the appropriate frames.<\/p>\n<h1>Deer Silhouette<\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/04\/fullsizerender-5.jpg\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3125\" src=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/04\/fullsizerender-5.jpg?w=225\" alt=\"FullSizeRender-5\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\"><\/a>I\u2019ve always wanted a deer head in my home. It\u2019s a nod to my favorite childhood memory spending weekends at my god-parents home where their living room is tastefully designed with my godfather\u2019s hunting trophies. \u00a0Since the hubs is not a hunter, I knew it would be a hard sell to get a deer head on my wall. But y\u2019all this Texan is determined and grateful for the recent trend of whimsical deer silhouettes in home decor.\u00a0 This one from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etsy.com\/listing\/180160665\/deer-head-silhouette-printable-wall-art?ref=shop_home_active_15\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">JaclynRoseDesign\u2019s Etsy shop <\/a>is my perfect for my gallery,\u00a0 it\u2019s elegant, playful, and totally easy to hang.<\/p>\n<h1>Birdcage<\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/05\/fullsizerender-6.jpg\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3136\" src=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/05\/fullsizerender-6.jpg?w=183\" alt=\"FullSizeRender-6\" width=\"183\" height=\"300\"><\/a>I bought this from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dayspring.com\/home_and_art\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Dayspring<\/a> during a clearance sale back in Boston.\u00a0 It\u2019s so my fave because I love birds and freedom and the hope an empty birdcage fills me.\u00a0 It\u2019s supposed to be a photo holder, but the kids thought it looked better without pictures.\u00a0<strong> I\u2019m torn again.\u00a0 I think some 4X6s of black and white prints would be lovely.\u00a0<\/strong> <strong>What do you think?<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1>Embroidery Hoop Art<\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/05\/fullsizerender-7.jpg\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3137\" src=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/05\/fullsizerender-7.jpg?w=274\" alt=\"FullSizeRender-7\" width=\"274\" height=\"300\"><\/a>Y\u2019all this was the easiest piece to make.\u00a0 Take white cloth, stretch it in the hoop, secure, paint!\u00a0 I got the inspiration from an Etsy shop but since I was at the end of my budget when I found this idea, I put my DIY brain to work and voila!\u00a0\u00a0 I love it and the best part of that piece is when I\u2019m tired of the silver triangle, I can swap out the fabric for something else.<\/p>\n<h1>Shalom Arrow<\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/05\/shalomarrow.jpg\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3138\" src=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/05\/shalomarrow.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"ShalomArrow\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\"><\/a>Because I have my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.noondaycollection.com\/PWS\/homeoffice\/store\/AMUS\/product\/Nahuala-Rectangle-Trays-Set-of-3,2098,374.aspx\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">wooden Noonday trays <\/a>from Guatemala on the table and I have a reclaimed wood mirror waiting to go the opposite wall in the kitchen, I really wanted a reclaimed wood piece to tie the wall into the rest of the room\u2019s design.\u00a0 I also wanted to invest in a local business owner here in LA, so after searching on Etsy a bit, I found Amy Jorgensen of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etsy.com\/shop\/AmysReclaimed\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">AmysReclaimed.<\/a>\u00a0 Y\u2019all,\u00a0 she is a DREAM to work with.\u00a0 All I said was I wanted the word, \u201cShalom\u201d and an arrow.\u00a0 I gave her the dimensions and sent her a pic of the wall\u00a0 and crossed my fingers.\u00a0 A couple of days later she sent me this pic of my arrow.\u00a0 It\u2019s perfect!\u00a0 I can\u2019t wait to order more reclaimed items from her store.\u00a0 There\u2019s a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etsy.com\/listing\/113007180\/2-rustic-wood-quart-mason-jar-country?ref=shop_home_active_3\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">mason jar set <\/a>I\u2019ve got my eye on.<\/p>\n<h1>\u201cO\u201d mug from Anthropologie<\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/05\/omug.jpg\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3139\" src=\"https:\/\/oshetablogs.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/05\/omug.jpg?w=225\" alt=\"OMug\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\"><\/a>Having an odd name, I don\u2019t find personalized items with the letter \u201cO\u201d very often.\u00a0 Back in November,\u00a0 when we came out here for the associate pastor job interview, TC took me to Old Town Pasadena to window shop and at Anthropologie we found this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anthropologie.com\/anthro\/product\/073732.jsp?cm_vc=SEARCH_RESULTS#\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Homegrown Monogram Mug!<\/a>\u00a0 I\u2019ve used it every morning since until I accidentally dropped it while washing dishes last month.\u00a0 Good thing my friend works for that exact Anthro and assured me they had one in stock, so the balance in the universe has been restored, I have something with my initial on it,\u00a0 and all is well.<\/p>\n<p>This is what I\u2019m into this month in my home, so tell me, <strong>what are you
