Do y\u2019all know Deidra Riggs? \u00a0You should! \u00a0She\u2019s brilliant and funny and accessible and the author of \u201cEvery Little Thing\u201d <\/a>and if that\u2019s not enough, she\u2019s the visonary behind the Jumping Tandem retreat in Nebraska.<\/p>\n

I got to know Deidra last spring when signed up to help organize the retreat, I didn\u2019t get a chance to go because, moving to LA! \u00a0But, she\u2019s one of those women who you meet in real life and she exudes the same wisdom and grace as her words.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been following her blog for a while now and just last week she announced that she\u2019s hosting a book club on her site on my all time favorite book, \u201cThe Yada Yada Prayer Group\u201d by Neta Jackson.<\/a> \u00a0Y\u2019all. \u00a0I can\u2019t say enough about this book and series. \u00a0It\u2019s delightful yet honest about the complexities of doing life with women who are very different from you. Every character is well-rounded and by the end of the book you want to go out and find your own prayer group of diverse women.<\/p>\n

Neta Jackson, a committed reconciler with years of experience, crafted a book that\u2019s both entertaining and practical. \u00a0I felt like after reading the first book, I could explore building relationships with women in different socio-economic classes and ethnicities than me with confidence and grace.<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t wait to process it here with you my sweet Shalom Sistas!<\/a>\u00a0Shalom is at the heart of racial reconciliation and I\u2019m so thankful that Deidra is taking the lead in a book club that \u201cgoes there\u201d with race conversations. \u00a0I have so much to learn from her, so I can\u2019t wait for January 15th to read her first contribution to the \u201cFORWARD: A book club to help move the conversation\u2026forward\u201d link up on chapter one of the Yada Yada Prayer Group. \u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

I just bought my copy (I have it on audiobook too, but I wanted to have it in paperback to write my notes for my link up contribution in the margins) as I\u2019m planning on linking up every week with the book club with my thoughts about each chapter. \u00a0Will you join me?<\/p>\n
