I hated icebreakers for the longest, but when I started the women\u2019s ministry at our old church I actually found them to be not that bad\u2014if you can have a sense of humor. \u00a0So, I thought I\u2019d use two of the ones I hated the most and share a bit about me: \u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

Shoe game<\/b>:\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
You know that game where you have to take one of you shoes off, throw it in a pile, and \u00a0at the direction of the leader, run like crazy to the pile, grab a shoe that doesn\u2019t belong to you, and then find it\u2019s owner? \u00a0Feet issues and fetishes aside, there\u2019s something bonkers in the best way about women trying to identify each other by our shoes. Again, you have to have a sense of humor or this just won\u2019t work. \u00a0Urban ministers can\u2019t afford show fetishes, but I do have one pair of shoes that I love, love, love.\u00a0 So if I were at a woman\u2019s event, I\u2019d probably be wearing these heels\u2026.<\/span>\n

Purse game<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
This one\u2019s an oldie but a goodie.\u00a0 You sit in a circle and pull out items in your purse to help the group get to know you.\u00a0 I\u2019ve played this game several ways:<\/span><\/div>\n

Here\u2019s my purse.\u00a0 Well actually, I have two purses that I\u2019m using right now.\u00a0 I\u2019m ashamed to admit this (western guilt and all), but I have several purses that I switch out based on season, need, and my mood.\u00a0 I usually get them on sale though and second hand\u2026.once I got a D & G purse with matching wallet for free at a Mom to Mom swap\u2026.I\u2019m rambling\u2026this is what happens when I succumb to guilt\u2026I ramble.<\/span><\/div>\n

Honey: \u00a0 I\u2019ve taken to drinking tea lately (I blame Harry Potter and Downton Abbey) and I love honey in my tea.\u00a0 Why is it in my purse?\u00a0 I was at a friend\u2019s house the other night who doesn\u2019t drink honey in her tea (I know weird, right) and as a retired Girl Scout camp counselor, I\u2019m always prepared! Or is that the Boys Scouts? \u00a0Oh well, I was only there for two summers\u2026<\/span><\/div>\n

My wallet and keys combo: I\u2019m super forgetful, so I figured if I upped the ante by increasing the possibility of losing my keys and money at one time\u2013 I\u2019d take better care to put them away\u2026.so far, so good :).<\/span><\/div>\n

Some of the prints don\u2019t match, but it\u2019s ok.\u00a0 I\u2019m a learning live with inconsistencies and imperfections.\u00a0 Just like my faith journey, sometimes Jesus makes total sense, sometimes I think\u00a0He\u2019s crazy<\/a>\u00a0and sometimes I just don\u2019t think I\u2019ll ever get Him.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
