Yesterday I posted on a Mix tape O\u2019 Love for my husband<\/a>.\u00a0 It was fun to write that post and even more fun to listen to him read it.\u00a0 Those songs were meaningful, beautiful, exciting, and perfect to communicate our love.\u00a0 So, today, when I received the word prompt for Five Minute Friday, \u201cbeloved\u201d I was thrilled.\u00a0 \u201cMy Beloved\u201d by Kari Jobe would be one song I would choose that communicates Jesus\u2019 love for me.\u00a0 So today, I\u2019ll write for five minutes on the first time I heard that song and the ways it\u2019s transformed my heart. I don\u2019t know why I\u2019m still surprised when you show up Jesus and reveal your heart to me.\u00a0 It\u2019s almost comical how small and wan my faith can be. But if Brother Lawrence can meet you at the sink while washing dishes then surely I can meet you while putting away my children\u2019s clothes.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

And that\u2019s just what happened.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cCome away with me my love\u201d, you sang because you knew how overwhelmed I felt with the kids, the house, our finances, my marriage.\u00a0 Better than Norah Jones jazzy invitation, Jesus Christ called me to find peace in him.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
Because I\u2019m your beloved.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll take you to my quiet waters, I\u2019ll restore your soul\u201d you promised because you knew how overwhelmed I felt with the noise in my spirit that I\u2019m not good enough, that I\u2019m a failure, that I\u2019m a disappointment, that I\u2019m sin-stained and unworthy.\u00a0 That I\u2019m too fat, too frumpy, too dark, too different, that I\u2019m ugly and unlovable.\u00a0 Better than One Direction\u2019s observation that \u201cyou don\u2019t know you\u2019re beautiful\u201d Jesus Christ called me his bride and sang, \u201c I see no stain in you\u2026you\u2019re beautiful, so beautiful to me\u201d.<\/span><\/div>\n

Because I\u2019m your beloved.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cCome rest in me and be made whole\u201d you invited because you knew the broken pieces caused by anxiety and worry.\u00a0 You knew I needed to find my rest in you and not this world.\u00a0 Better than Ludacris and Usher\u2019s toast to life, \u201cRest of My Life\u201d, Jesus Christ invited me in the shalom of his presence. <\/span><\/div>\n

How did you know I was in need of you?<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Because I\u2019m your beloved. <\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
So I will delight in you as you delight in singing over me. Tune my ears to your transformative melody my Lord, because I\u2019m your beloved, I\u2019m your bride.<\/span>
