A mom I know is looking for music to put on her 12-year-old son\u2019s new mp3 player. \u00a0She says,<\/p>\n
Looking for something reasonably wholesome, of course, but not scrupulously so. He\u2019s 12, but a very young 12.<\/p>\n
He is too old for little kids songs like Rafi, but I\u2019m hesitant to introduce him to even good rock music. I\u2019m not really looking for stuff like \u201cChristian rock\u201d\u2013music designed for teenagers who love rock but whose parents won\u2019t let them listen to it.<\/p>\n
All we can think of is Roger Miller, the Beatles, and the Kingston Trio.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
I suggested Paul Simon\u2019s Graceland<\/em> and Rhythm of the Saints<\/em>, and Mumford and Sons. \u00a0I was kinda into folk rock in college (The Nealds, The Indigo Girls, etc.) but most if it is just too girly. \u00a0Buddy Holly?<\/p>\n
