\u201cEqually significant for advertisers, the research showed that all who witnessed fast-forwarding\u2014whether they controlled it or not\u2014focused almost exclusively on the screen\u2019s central area when they watched. \u201cWe were amazed,\u201d Brasel says. They \u201cjust moved their eyes to the center of the screen and then didn\u2019t move them away.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis focus did not necessarily translate into brand recognition. On a questionnaire completed after the program, fast-forwarders were far less successful than regular-speed viewers at identifying which brands had been shown.
