The film tries to make up for this lacuna by creating some emotional conflict between Coach Herb Brooks (Kurt Russell) and his wife Patty (Patricia Clarkson) and between the goalie and his father. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Verdana\" color=\"#0000ff\">It works well enough. I don\u2019t even like hockey but the game between the USA and the Russians is riveting.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Verdana\" color=\"#0000ff\">I liked the focus on \u201cteam\u201d over individuality. True, some may say this is what all sports films are about, but it came across very well \u2013 and to individualistic Americans, it\u2019s a message we need to hear. Community is what it\u2019s all about.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Verdana\" color=\"#0000ff\">Hoosiers is still my all time favorite sports movie\u2026 Then Remember the Titans. Golf movies?
