2.<\/strong> I am shocked \u2014 shocked!<\/em> \u2014 that American Christians would lie about an imaginary threat of legal persecution<\/a>.<\/p>\n

$\"\"$ <\/a>3.<\/strong> Travis Mamone has posted a mixtape for his new e-book<\/a> The Other Hidden Wound: Uncovering the Effect of Patriarchy on the Male Psyche<\/em>. I mention this for two reasons: 1) Mamone is a good guy and a terrific writer. I enjoy his blog and I\u2019m looking forward to reading his book. And 2) His playlist includes \u201cLess Teeth, More Tits<\/a>,\u201d from the Lunachicks, and that\u2019s a good excuse for me to brag about having seen them live at JC Dobbs<\/a>. That was fun.<\/p>\n

6.<\/strong> \u201cSo there was a forum in Grand Rapids last night on being gay and Christian,\u201d Ben Irwin writes<\/a>. \u201cKeep in mind this is a city where you can barely throw a stick without hitting a church. Or a Christian publisher.\u201d<\/p>\n

7.<\/strong> Matt Young offers two reasons why Christians should not say the Pledge of Allegiance<\/a>. Here\u2019s Reason No. 3: Because asking, requiring or pressuring free people to \u201cpledge allegiance\u201d is creepy, creepy, creepy<\/em>. If your spouse asked you to pledge your \u201callegiance\u201d every day before leaving the house, you\u2019d suspect there was something deeply wrong with them. And you\u2019d be right.<\/p>\n
