Sports reports<\/a>, that headline could read \"Elijah Dukes Atones for Threatening to Kill Ex-Wife by Leading All Rookies With 9 Home Runs.\"<\/p>\n<p>Passan notes that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.highbeam.com\/doc\/1G1-64633669.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">this<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.clickondetroit.com\/sports\/9237088\/detail.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">has<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/query.nytimes.com\/gst\/fullpage.html?res=990CE6D9103AF931A3575AC0A963958260\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">happened<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/sportsillustrated.cnn.com\/baseball\/news\/2003\/03\/11\/si_puckett\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">before<\/a> and it's <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aolsportsblog.com\/2007\/05\/10\/julio-mateo-allegedly-beat-bit-and-choked-his-wife\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">still<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aolsportsblog.com\/2007\/05\/19\/alberto-callaspo-rejoins-the-d-backs-receives-counseling\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">dismayingly<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/espn.go.com\/mlb\/news\/2003\/0501\/1547624.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">common<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I'm not suggesting that baseball players are more likely to beat up their wives and girlfriends (although clearly too many of them do since one is too many).
