He was not wrong.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/the-toast.net\/2014\/02\/11\/leonard-knight-is-dead\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-20996\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.patheos.com\/blogs\/sites\/52\/2014\/02\/Leonard.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"340\" height=\"245\"><\/a>\u2022 During our recent string of snow, snow, ice, and more snow, Pennsylvania formally declared a \u201cstate of emergency.\u201d That meant, among other things, that the state\u2019s \u201cprice-gouging laws\u201d were put into effect.<\/p>\n<p>So \u2026 what then? I guess price-gouging is <em>legal<\/em> when it\u2019s not snowing? It\u2019s perfectly fine to rip off desperate people just as long as it\u2019s a nice day outside? That seems wrong.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 I am glad no one was injured when a giant <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rawstory.com\/rs\/2014\/02\/12\/photos-eight-corvettes-plunge-into-sinkhole-at-national-corvette-museum\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">40-foot sinkhole opened beneath the National Corvette Museum<\/a> last week, swallowing eight vintage cars at the Bowling Green museum.<\/p>\n<p>It would be fun to witness the theological speculation that might accompany such an event if something similar were to happen at <em>another<\/em> Kentucky museum not far from there. A sinkhole in the karst region near Mammoth Cave is not in any way an indication of supernatural divine intervention, but if such a sinkhole were to swallow up eight fiberglass dinosaurs or a replica of Noah\u2019s Ark \u2026 well, John Piper\u2019s Twitter feed might be briefly interesting.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 \u201cSorry folks. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.internetmonk.com\/archive\/46639\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Song of Solomon doesn\u2019t teach that<\/a>. I may not be 100-percent sure what it does teach, but I know without a doubt that\u2019s\u00a0<em>not<\/em>\u00a0it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 This piece from <em>The Onion<\/em> is funny because no one will ever, <em>ever<\/em> say this \u2014 not even if you\u2019re wearing your coolest, edgiest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/slacktivist\/2014\/01\/16\/why-witnessing-tools-never-work-and-why-the-acting-is-always-bad-in-evangelism-training-videos\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">witnessing-tool Christian T-shirt<\/a>: \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theonion.com\/articles\/hello-do-you-have-a-moment-to-tell-me-about-jesus,35264\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Hello, Do You Have A Moment To Tell Me About Jesus Christ?<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 I learned, belatedly, <a href=\"http:\/\/thebrainscoop.tumblr.com\/post\/76766600941\/happy-world-pangolin-day-this-is-the-endangered\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">from Emily Graslie<\/a>, that Saturday was <a href=\"http:\/\/pangolins.org\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">World Pangolin Day<\/a>.
