{"id":434,"date":"2003-10-21T23:11:48","date_gmt":"2003-10-22T03:11:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/slacktivist\/2003\/10\/21\/a-dangerous-man\/"},"modified":"2012-06-24T13:31:03","modified_gmt":"2012-06-24T17:31:03","slug":"a-dangerous-man","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/slacktivist\/2003\/10\/21\/a-dangerous-man\/","title":{"rendered":"A Dangerous Man"},"content":{"rendered":"<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional\/\/EN\" \"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/REC-html40\/loose.dtd\">\n<html><head><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><\/head><body><p>Former CIA analyst <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rochesterdandc.com\/news\/10209624DCB_cia20_news.shtml\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Ray McGovern<\/a> is, like Joseph Wilson, both in a position to know the whole truth and brave enough to tell it to anybody who'll listen.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, McGovern spoke to a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.metrojustice.org\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">community group<\/a> in Rochester, N.Y.:<\/p>\n<p><i>The Bush administration lied to Congress to pave the way for war with Iraq, alleged a former CIA analyst who visited Rochester on Sunday. \u2026<\/i><\/p>\n<p>\u201cNever have I seen such a cynically orchestrated campaign over a year and a half,\u2019\u2019 he said. \u201cOnly a few weeks ago did Bush admit that Iraq was not involved in any way with 9\/11.\u201d \u2026<\/p>\n<p>Somewhere in the White House, two \"senior administration officials\" are probably busy digging for dirt on Mrs. McGovern in the hopes of creating a damaging whisper campaign.<\/p>\n<p>More on\/from McGovern <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tompaine.com\/feature2.cfm\/ID\/7943\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.antiwar.com\/rep\/mcgovern1.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.counterpunch.org\/mcgovern06232003.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Here's what I find most interesting about McGovern. Some of these former CIA guys settle in for a cushy job with Brookings or CNN \u2014 he's <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slschool.org\/pages\/contactus\/30slschoolstaff.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">co-director<\/a> of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slschool.org\/pages\/aboutus\/10ourvision.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Servant Leadership School<\/a> \u2014 a \"people's seminary\" affiliated with the Church of the Saviour in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former CIA analyst Ray McGovern is, like Joseph Wilson, both in a position to know the whole truth and brave enough to tell it to anybody who&#8217;ll listen.
