\u201cThe folks at FRC lie about the LGBT community and they spread hatred. Not mere disagreement, but actual hatred<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDo all of my economic decisions ascribe to a morally perfect model? no. But when I know better, I try to do better<\/a>, and in this case, I don\u2019t agree with the company\u2019s sponsorship and support of events and organizations I deem as actively campaigning against the rights of fellow human beings.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt always disappoints me when Christians come out in the public forum against an entire group of people<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWill the company stop donating to groups that are actively opposing gay-marriage laws<\/a>, and controversial \u2018gay-curing\u2019 groups such as Exodus International?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAs someone who was in reparative therapy for several years, I know firsthand that it is an extremely damaging and dangerous approach to how the church has \u2018dealt with\u2019 it\u2019s LGBT members, and I won\u2019t knowingly allow my money to fund such programs<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are more than 1100 federal benefits denied to same-sex couples. That\u2019s a real injustice<\/a>.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThe problem, in a nutshell, is this: I can\u2019t figure out how to disentangle myself from injustice<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLast week I received [an email] asking me to pray for Chick-fil-A and their crusade against gay marriage. WHAT!?!! I thought we were helping the impoverished<\/a> with toothpaste, medical care, and stuffed teddy bears!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMoreno would surely object to Cathy\u2019s views, and argue that Cathy\u2019s (and his company\u2019s) support for anti-same-sex marriage groups has harmed LGBT people, including those in his district. In my judgment, Moreno is entirely correct about this. By fighting to keep bans on same-sex marriage intact in most states, and successfully repealing same-sex marriage rights in California, Cathy and his allies have inflicted real harm on millions of Americans. But this doesn\u2019t mean that Cathy doesn\u2019t have the right to express his views<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat people really mean by \u2018I support the traditional family\u2019 is that they oppose same-sex marriage<\/a>. The unfortunate (and, I hope, unintended) implication is that people who support marriage for same-sex couples somehow don\u2019t support heterosexual marriage and families.\u201d<\/p>\n

(Sadly, Justin, that\u2019s not at all<\/em> unintended<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I read what seemed to be a heartfelt letter from the owner of the Chicago restaurant, I felt bad for the owners, until I learned that it was a form letter<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Jim Henson Company, which currently offers toys in Chick-fil-A kids\u2019 meals, announced that it will no longer partner with the fast food chain on any future endeavors because of its anti-gay policies<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cA rep at the Consumer Product Safety Commission told me that the agency has no record of any recall related to these toys<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause lying is a Christian value<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf the Muppets are on the opposite side of a political or social issue from you, do not argue with them. It will only end in tears<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cInstead of owning up to the fact that The Jim Henson Company stopped doing business with them because they\u2019re overrun with bigots, the chicken sandwich company is making fake Facebook accounts to defend its honor<\/a> on the social network.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the thread on Chick-fil-A\u2019s Facebook page, a commenter named \u2018Abby Farle,\u2019 who had a stock photo of a teenage girl as her picture<\/a>, posted a couple times in defense of the chicken chain.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, just because the image is a stock photo doesn\u2019t necessarily mean the company is behind the bogus account<\/a>. It could be an employee, an outside vendor \u2014 or just someone who feels really strongly about chicken sandwiches.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSeriously, the complete idiocy of right-wing Christians is breathtaking<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n
