Bl. John Henry Newman<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>God has created me to do Him some definite service;
\nHe has committed some work to me
\nwhich He has not committed to another.
\nI have my mission\u2014I never may know it in this life,
\nbut I shall be told it in the next.<\/p>\n
S<\/b>omehow I am necessary for His purposes\u2026
\nI have a part in this great work;
\nI am a link in a chain, a bond of connection
\nbetween persons.
\nHe has not created me for naught. I shall do good,
\nI shall do His work;
\nI shall be an angel of peace, a preacher of truth
\nin my own place, while not intending it,
\nif I do but keep His commandments
\nand serve Him in my calling.<\/p>\n
T<\/b>herefore I will trust Him.
\nWhatever, wherever I am,
\nI can never be thrown away.
\nIf I am in sickness, my sickness may serve Him;
\nIn perplexity, my perplexity may serve Him;
\nIf I am in sorrow, my sorrow may serve Him.
\nMy sickness, or perplexity, or sorrow may be
\nnecessary causes of some great end,
\nwhich is quite beyond us.
\nHe does nothing in vain; He may prolong my life,
\nHe may shorten it;
\nHe knows what He is about.
\nHe may take away my friends,
\nHe may throw me among strangers,
\nHe may make me feel desolate,
\nmake my spirits sink, hide the future from me\u2014
\nstill He knows what He is about.\u2026<\/p>\n
