They did not say that the pope \u201cDid Mass\u201d or \u201cGave Mass\u201d. He did not \u201chold a Mass\u201d or \u201cMake Mass\u201d or \u201cDeliver the Mass\u201d.<\/p>\n
They actually wrote that the Pope \u201cCelebrated Mass\u201d<\/p>\n
This is a newsworthy item in itself and it could herald a revolution amongst mainstream reporters.<\/p>\n
They might actually start to do their homework. Or they could ask a real live Catholic priest to proof read their stories and help them out.<\/p>\n
When the pope makes a visit like this it is clear that non Catholic and non Christian reporters are trying hard to \u201cget religion\u201d for a few days.<\/p>\n
One of my favorite howlers of all time was when Pope Benedict visited England and a \u00a0keen eyed reporter said that he was just been given his crow\u2019s ear.<\/p>\n
He was referring of course to the Pope\u2019s crozier.<\/p>\n
