Certainly the Reformation in England was a deformation. Henry VII\u2019s stripping of the altars was not only a monumental act of iconoclastic vandalism, but the cultural revolution brought about by his\u00a0break with Rome\u2014which included the dissolution of the monasteries and his daughter Elizabeth\u2019s reign of terror\u2014was a precursor of the horrors of the French Revolution or Mao\u2019s cultural revolution in China centuries later.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #4b4b4b;\">The year 2017 will mark the five-hundredth anniversary of the beginning of the Protestant Reformation.
